- Abstract
The article reports on the proposal to retain Pleurotus japonicus over that of Agaricus guepiniformis and Pleurotus harmandii to curtail confusion in the research community. Pleurotus japonicus is a distinctive species in Japan and is a famous Asian agarics. Recent developments resulted to confusion on its usage as several researchers use the name with scant description.
