- Abstract
The article focuses on the U.S. Home Mortgage Disclosure Act of 1975 (HMDA), which requires mortgage lending companies with headquarters in metropolitan areas to establish an annual public report of their home lending activity. It states that the HMDA was created to help public determine whether local communities are receiving adequate housing services from financial institutions. The lending patterns and mortgage market activity of different lender types across the state were also discussed.
