- Abstract
The article focuses on the chemical disorder and magnetism in the mineral herbertsmithite. It explains that the mineral, which is considered as a model of a type of magnetism that is necessary in superconductivity, could create defects in the array of magnetic atoms due to its chemical disorder. Based on a study on herbertsmithite, it is inferred that the type of disorder which is present in the mineral have little effects on its magnetic lattice and on high-temperature superconductivity.
