- Title
UK physicists discover full scope of budget cuts.
- Abstract
The article presents information on the budget deficit experienced by the Great Britain Science & Technology Facilities Council (STFC). Physicists from the STFC revealead that funding for astronomy, particle physics and space science will be cut because of the budget deficit amounting to £80 million. Selling 50% of the observing time of Gemini telescopes programme is being considered to solve such shortage. 25% of Great Britain's contribution to the overall budget of ExoMars mission will be cut down while the funding for the Large Hadron Collider beauty (LHCb) experiment is also reduced by 25%. STFC mentioned that the Jodrell Bank radio astronomy in Macclesfield, England will benefit on the said funding package.
