- Abstract
The article reports on the new proposal of the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) regarding the human skeletons of the Native American tribes in the U.S. It states that the agency proposes that the bones at federal facilities, museums, and universities across the country could be given to the native American tribes living in the area from which the remains are excavated. According to the author, the effort would affect the studies of anthropologists and the plan could empty institutions of about 120,000 human skeletons stored for research purposes.
