- Abstract
The article discusses land reform measures, social injustice, and the proposed reform of property rights in countries such as Brazil and South Africa as of October 2012, focusing on an analysis of the reported racism and oppression embodied in the laws of South Africa. The application of a social obligation theory to property rights is addressed, along with an examination of Brazilian constitutional law and the legal rights of landless South Africans. Brazil's 1988 Constitution and the nation's Civil Code are also mentioned.
