The article discusses the importance of pardons in criminal justice system and Minnesota Board of Pardons consists of the governor, attorney general, and chief justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court. It mentions process for granting pardons in Minnesota is in dire need of reform and that the Minnesota Legislature needs to make an active effort. It also mentions Minnesota Legislature pass a law to create a Clemency Review Commission to change the current structure of this process.
