- Title
THE BIAS IN PSYCHOTHERAPY RESEARCH EVALUATION.
- Authors
Cohen, Lawrence H.; Suchy, Kathryn R.
- Abstract
This article presents information related to the bias in psychotherapy research evaluation. The notion that research readers' attitudes affect their judgments of scientist studies certainly is not a new one. The tendency of scientists to distort their interpretations of research data in accordance with their own strongly held beliefs has been examined. Recently efforts have been directed toward understanding the role of applied mental health research in professional practice and investigators have begun to discuss the factors that affect clinicians' research evaluation.
