- Abstract
As a result of constant technological advances in the metallurgical sector, and seeking to contribute to this, the study is applied to one of the pillars of industry 4.0, this being additive manufacturing. The aim is to print parts with different surface characteristics, where, after manufacturing, it will not be necessary to use heat treatments and surface treatments. In this way, samples were printed with malleable base metal using AWS A5.18 ER70S-6 welding wire. For the surface region, AWS A5.28 HL 85 MC-B wire was used, a wire for welding low-alloy steels with high mechanical resistance. It is worth highlighting the use of the TANDEM welding technique as an ally in the deposition of materials, as two materials with different characteristics are used. To determine the results, two walls measuring 200 mm long and approximately 35 mm high were printed, and three samples were subsequently cut for metallographic analysis and Vickers microhardness testing. The results were eminent, and for the material with wire AWS A5.18 ER70S 6 the hardness was between 194 and 210 HV, and for the material AWS A5.28 HL 85 MC-B the hardness was between 262 and 277 HV, this value can reach approximately 356 HV when dealing with the last deposited layer, where thermal exchange occurs with an environment without reheating, unlike the other deposited strands that are reheated with each printed layer.
