- Abstract
This text emphasizes the process of design in urbanism, in its aspect of thinking by program, taking as an object of reflection the aesthetic experience of Park Fiction, in Hamburg, Germany. We identify a recurring posture in our field, where the design vision corresponds to the problem solving, expressed in the figure of "programming or functionality". It seems necessary to recognize the static nature of fixed and defined programs and identities that are attributed to urban spaces and which refer to one of the principles of the Vitruvian triad: utilitas. This rigidity, given a priori by the designer, engages considerably and leads to a definitive response, making any transformation difficult for the population to whom the project is intended. The experience presented deconstructs this character and leads us to other possible ways of making a city.
