- Abstract
This article, published in the journal Neurological Sciences, presents a case report of an atypical presentation of herpes zoster, or shingles, in a 39-year-old male. The patient experienced stabbing pain in the left region of his head, which was diagnosed as "nummular headache" in another emergency room. However, further evaluation revealed nodular skin lesions consistent with herpes zoster in the same region. The patient was treated with antiviral medication and experienced significant pain reduction. This case highlights the importance of considering atypical presentations of herpes zoster and underscores the need for accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
