- Abstract
The article discusses relationship between the Lutheran Church and the Social Democratic welfare state of Sweden during the 1920s and 1930s. The relationship between Sweden's Social Democratic Party (SAP) and the established state Lutheran Church (which is referred to as the Swedish Church), including Social Democrats' attitude toward the Swedish Church clergy as the social class enemy, is discussed.
