- Abstract
The article discusses the impact of the North American Free Trade Agreement on the World Tableware International Company (WTI). WTI markets tableware which includes china, glass, and silverware for the food services industry and boasts annual sales totaling $30 million. WTI is an international company with a flatware factory in Taiwan. In 1992 WTI created a joint venture with the Mexican company Vitro S.A., which is a glass manufacturer worth $3 billion. The venture is called Vitrocrisa Cubiertos and allows WTI to ship products from Mexico in a lot less time than those from Taiwan.
