Psoriasis is a common inflammatory, immune-mediated, systemic disorder primarily involving the skin. It has a number of forms and may be localized orgeneralized and/or may affect internal organs. It is associated with a number of disorders such as diabetes mellitus, obesity, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease, mood disorders and malignancy. The course of psoriasis may be constant or may remitand relapse. Orthodox medical therapy of psoriasis is mostly suppressive and may be topical or systemic. Homeopathy can often provide a gentle, curative therapy for this disorder. The homeopathic treatment of psoriasis is discussed, with indications on how to recognize progress in therapy and failure in therapy when using homeopathy. This work may help highlight the potential of homeopathy to be come a viable therapy for patients with psoriasis, thus increasingtheir rangeof therapeutic options.
