- Title
TOUGH TIMES FOR FINANCIAL EXECUTIVES.
- Authors
ROSEN, M. DANIEL
- Abstract
The article focuses on layoffs of financial executives in companies undergoing corporate restructuring and offers suggestions on what executives can do to compensate for their job losses. William A. Davidson, a financial executive recruiting specialist for the job placement firm Handy & Associates said that the job market as of 1987 was extremely tight due to corporate mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, and cutbacks. It mentions that golden parachutes have helped lessen the impact of these executives losing their jobs and suggests that the majority of executives have landed on their feet. It states that the financial outlook is better in the securities, insurance, and banking industries.
