The article discusses the decision of the Singapore High Court in the case 'Muhammad Ridzuan bin Md Ali v Public Prosecutor' in which the appellant convicted for trafficking in an amount of heroin large enough to attract the mandatory death penalty under the Misuse of Drugs Act (MDA). Topics discussed include issues related to application of the doctrine of common intention to MDA; presumption of joint possession of drugs; and laws aimed to prevent the offence of trafficking.
