- Abstract
In the last decade, Public Broadcasters in Europe have been making significant efforts to improve their CSR actions towards their main stakeholder, the public. At the same time, the years 2018 and 2019 settled down a turning point in the scientific, social and communicative perception of climate change, which has helped to highlight the role of the media as essential agents in environmental awareness. In this respect, EITB it is an interesting case study, for its particular commitment to environmental journalism (EITB, 2019). Under this premise, this article analysis web news on climate change of EITB.eus from 2013 to 2020, with the aim of finding the strongest and weakest points in the application of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to climate change related issues. As the study concludes, environmental coverage evidences strengths such as the broad inclusion of social and scientific frames, as well as weaknesses such as the lack of continuous communication of climate change.
