The article focuses on the effort of the European Union legislators to develop a narrative that focused on the ideological conflicts of the war and the fight between democracy and dictatorship. The effort of the legislators to emphasize the positive purpose of the Holocaust, which was seen as a trans-European experience that can unite the citizens of the region is offered.
