- Authors
Williams, David
- Abstract
The article presents criticism on the Austrian film "Import/Export" directed by Ulrich Seidl and starring Ekateryna Rak. A mutual theme of exploitation and voyeurism is found in its plots, one of which deals with a young Ukrainian nurse who went to Vienna to work as a hospital cleaner, the other with an unemployed Austrian accompanying his stepfather to Slovakia. It also notes its presentation of human misfortune which can transform into artistic and intellectual pornography.
