- Abstract
In accordance with the Constitutional Order of Bosnia and Herzegovina under the Dayton Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina (14.12.1995.) and the constitutional order of BiH Entities (the Federation of BIH and the Republic of Srpska) police forces were established with a considerable specificity. In the Federation of BIH the police is organized in a decentralized basis with slight elements of coordination, while in the Republic of Srpska the police is organized in a single centralized police organization.[1] The work of police officials is based on the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the law and other regulations that are applied in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In performing of his duties, the police officer acts in a fair and lawful manner, guided by the public interest to serve and assist the public by promoting the development and preservation of democratic practices in accordance with the protection of human rights and fundamental freedorns.[2] In this chapter the main agencies for the implementation of the Law of the police officers in Bosnia-Herzegovina will be presented as follows: State Investigation and Protection Agency - SIPA, Border Police of BIH, Intelligence Security Agency, the Police Administration of the Republic of Srpska and the Federation of BIH and Brcko District Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
