- Abstract
The article presents a study that deals with an approach to the expressive synthesis of jazz saxophone melodies. This approach uses samples from real performance recordings and concatenates note samples. The authors attempt to generate an expressive audio sequence from the analysis of an arbitrary input score and an annotated saxophone note database extracted from real performances. Based on the database annotations, the authors reveal the insights of building the expressive performance model.
