ANÁLISE COMPARATIVA ENTRE AVALIAÇÕES CITOLÓGICAS E HISTOPATOLÓGICAS DE NEOPLASIAS DE CÃES E GATOS REALIZADAS ENTRE 2022 E 2023 - ESTUDO RETROSPECTIVO.

- Abstract
A análise microscópica de tecidos é muito importante no diagnóstico de lesões suspeitas de neoplasia, avaliando particularidades celulares, através da citologia, e arquitetura tecidual, com a histopatologia. Neste estudo retrospectivo, objetivou-se verificar o grau de coerência entre análises citopatológicas e histopatológicas de amostras avaliadas em um laboratório entre 2022 e 2023. Laudos citológicos e dados relevantes de 83 caninos e 3 felinos foram estudados e seus diagnósticos presuntivos foram comparados com subsequentes laudos histopatológicos, com único critério de escolha para o estudo de terem realizado avaliação citológica seguida de histopatologia. Pacientes pertencentes a uma raça definida representaram 74,42% (N=64), onde as raças mais presentes foram Golden Retriever, Bulldog e PitBull, enquanto os animais sem raça definida totalizaram 25,58% (n=22), com média de idade de 10 anos. Dentre os critérios de concordância, os resultados foram divididos em categorias de classificação neoplásica e prognóstico, obtendo os seguintes resultados: 68,60% (n=59) dos resultados citopatológicos foram coerentes com seus correspondentes histopatológicos, sendo que, em neoplasias epiteliais, a assertividade foi de 32,20% (n=19); neoplasias de células redondas diagnosticadas corretamente representaram 49,15% (n=29), neoplasias mesenquimais contabilizaram 13,56% (n=8) de resultados condizentes e processos inflamatórios/alérgicos/infecciosos totalizaram 5,08% (n=3) das conclusões corretas. Entre os 31,40% (n=27) de resultados incompatíveis, 37,04% (n=10) eram neoplasias epiteliais, 37,04% (n=10) neoplasias de células redondas e 25,93% neoplasias mesenquimais (n=7). Conclui-se que a citologia apresentou uma relação de concordância expressiva comparada à histopatologia, diagnóstico mais qualificado e específico para neoplasias. Por ter custo mais acessível, fácil realização, menor invasibilidade, e resultado mais rápido, a citologia deve ser usada na rotina clínica, pois oferece análise geral da situação, auxilia na abordagem terapêutica inicial, definição e planejamento cirúrgico e permite avaliar um prognóstico imediato ao paciente, quando bem conduzida e qualificada. Entretanto, a análise histopatológica não deve ser substituída, já que possui metodologia diferente e objetiva, complementar o diagnóstico, sendo necessária para confirmação e classificação mais apurada da lesão, análise de margens neoplásicas ou ainda, avaliar assertividade do diagnóstico citológico.
