- Abstract
The article "Comments on 'Social inequalities in treatment receipt for childhood cancers in Ireland: A population-based analysis'" by Molcho et al. examines registry data on pediatric cancer treatment in Ireland from 1994 to 2012. The authors argue that there are significant inequalities in treatment receipt for certain cancers based on gender and socioeconomic status. However, the authors of this response article raise concerns about the accuracy of the data used by Molcho et al., pointing out discrepancies between the database and medical expectations. They also question the selective presentation of results and statistical concerns in Molcho et al.'s analysis. Overall, this response challenges the conclusions drawn by Molcho et al. and raises doubts about the validity of their findings.
