- Abstract
The article focuses on an optimal stabilizing control scheme that directly takes into account the nonlinearity of a power system. Linear and nonlinear terms represent the dynamic characteristics of a power system. Linear terms express the damping effect of a generator and the response characteristics of controllers while nonlinear terms express the output power variations of a generator. The result of the application of the stabilizing control scheme to a multimachine system that includes phase shifters is discussed.
