- Abstract
The purpose of this article is to bring new information on the Militari-Chilia culture, attributed to the Getae of Wallachia in the 2nd-4th centuries AD. The study refers to the preventive archaeological research that took place in 2016, in sector D, in the western part of the archaeological site. During the archaeological excavations, within the Militari-Chilia type settlement, several dwellings and pits were discovered and researched, respectively a furnace for firing clay vessels. The dwellings discovered here had approximately rectangular shapes, with rounded corners. They were oriented N-S or NV-SE. In terms of location relative to ground level, they were half-buried. The pits identified here were round-oval in plan, and the profile was bell-shaped, with a wider underside. The presented ceramic material is a case study, which contributes to the knowledge of the late phase of ceramics of the Militari-Chilia culture, through the detailed analysis of the pottery discovered in a pit, archaeological complex nr. 8/2016.
