- Title
Distribution and genetic variation of hymenolepidid cestodes in murid rodents on the Canary Islands (Spain).
- Abstract
The article presents a study that identified the presence of hymenolepidid species in the murid rodents on the Canary Islands in Spain. For this 1,017 murine were carried out in Archipelago and study of nuclear ITS1 and mitochondrial COI loci were performed to analyze the genetic variation and differentiation. Identification of three species of hymenolepidids including Hymenolepis diminuta, Rodentolepis microstoma and Rodentolepis fraterna has done which showed that Hymenolepis diminuta and R. microstoma were widely distributed in Archipelago and R. fraterna was least spread.
