- Authors
Khademi, Hooman; Kamangar, Farin
- Abstract
The authors discuss an article within the issue by Roshandel and colleagues, which revealed that that Esophageal cancer (EC) rates are still high in Golestan Province of northeastern Iran. They refer to other case control and cohort studies which help in more accurate diagnosis of cases. They mention a major decline in the cancer registry in EC cases attributing it to improved socioeconomic status and decline of opium use. They also suggest the need for further epidemiological studies.
