- Abstract
The article reports that VeriSign has announced that it plans to invest more than $100 million to upgrade its infrastructure to counter a wave of computer attacks and manage a surge in the use of the Internet. VeriSign is in charge of managing the .com and .net domain names registry and has to make sure that Internet users can reach those Web sites. The company explained that the expansion will enhance its ability to process Domain Name System queries from 400 billion daily to more than four trillion per day.
