- Abstract
The article focuses on the economic and political condition of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). The main concern for political leaders of the country is the slow rate of economic development. The FSM government recently approved a strategy for encouraging growth in the private sector. The political power in state is distributed between two branches, executive and legislative. The ever-present tension between the two branches is one of the main reasons for poor condition of the region.
