- Abstract
Pseudo aneurysm after previous carotide dissection is a rare cause of cerebral infarction. In the litterature, no data is actually available. We report two cases in the Saint-Joseph Hospital, Paris, in the service of neurology. The first case is a 30 year-old man hospitalized for a left hemiplegia with hypoaesthesia. The RMI showed a right sylvian cerebral infarction. The brain scanner with injection showed a saccular dilatation in the carotide artery related to an old dilatation with a thrombus inside the aneurysm. The second patient was a 63 year-old man hospitalized for a left hemiplegia related to a junctionel cerebral infarction between the right anterieur cerebral artery and the right posterieur cerebral artery. The brain scanner with injection showed a dissecting aneurysm of the carotid artery internal right under petreuse without any intracranial occlusion of downstream. There was no wall hematoma. No data in the litterature of dissection mention the number of cerebral infarction related to persistant aneurysm. Imputability of this mechanism was mentioned because no other cause was found despite an exhaustive etiological assessment.
