Other malignant diseases.
- Abstract
The article refers to Tables 7 and 8 of the article, in which the result of recent studies using a specific histology dearly indicates that a sensitive AFP quantitation test will be of importance for the clinical trivialness, the estimation of prognosis, and the clinical follow-up of patients with these tumors. Furthermore, quantitation of AFP in serum may serve to aid histopathologists in attempts to establish new functional criteria for classification of the respective tumors. If the AFP level in serum is directly related to the tumor mass present, AFP quantitation can be a useful tool for selecting and monitoring radiotherapeutic and chemotherapeutic regimes.
