- Abstract
The article presents information about stripprinter. The stripprinter is quite inexpensive. Its current cost is $329. It does not undergo extensive model changes each year and is essentially the same as the machine purchased 10 years ago. It is chiefly a contact phototypography system installed in the lid of a light-tight box containing a cassette of light-sensitive paper. In the operation the type negative strip is inserted in the track and moved to the required letter. The negative is locked to the paper in the exposure track and moved along until the entire letter is spaced in position. A button is pushed which starts a timed exposure light. Paper and negative are unlocked and the next letter is positioned. Normally the stripprinter is used in a darkroom and the exposed paper is developed by dipping successively in developer, fixer and wash.
