- Abstract
Acting collectively requires voluntary association with people who share interests and can represent the possibility of acting to solve problems at the local, national or global. The different forms of interaction and engagement between people within organizations devoted to collective action are essential part of this process and can no longer be ignored if we seek to understand how the relativization of geographical boundaries, civic and professional influences this kind of action. It is from this premise that Bruce Bimber, Andrew J. Flanagin and Cynthia Stohl, professors at the University of California at Santa Barbara, United States, depart for the analysis proposed in the book "Collective action in organizations: interactions and engagement in an era of technological change", whose first edition was published in 2012 by the editor of Cambridge University.
