- Title
The Tennessee Public Records Act and statutory exceptions 'otherwise provided by state law'.
- Authors
Willis, Craig E.
- Abstract
The article explores the Tennessee Public Records Act. The Tennessee Public Records Act mandates the government entities to grant full access to public records to every citizen of Tennessee. However, citizens can only access those documents that are within the statutory definition of "public record." Section 10-7-503(a), the last clause of the Tennessee Code Annotated, provides a list of statutory exception which effectively exempts documents "otherwise provided by state law."
