The article explores the investigation of students and teachers from Denali Elementary School in Fairbanks, Alaska of invasive plants. They discover that the bird vetch plant can threaten nearby areas that had been burned by wildfires. On finding that this invasive plant spread rapidly, they collect seeds in plastic bags to do their own investigations in the classroom. The students also make their observations of burned and unburned forest sites.
