- Authors
Johnson, Cameron
- Abstract
The article explains the different kinds of cries that children do to call the attention of parents. Topics covered include the soulful and ragged crying of a child as bawling that may shift into blubbering with hoarser tones and contortions of the face that may continue on to mewling or whimpering or wails at lower volume with nasal tones. Also mentioned are sniveling cries with incoherent words, sobbing while breathing in or out and squawking, squalling, wailing and yelling.
