- Abstract
The article discusses relevance of early Chinese thought for contemporary environmental issues. Topics discussed include presentations of human and non-human relationships and anthropogenic influence in the Huainanz; alternation within a linear historical process that it promises to end by acting as an eternal guide for sagely rule; and presence of holism and harmony within early Chinese thought which provides the foundation for an environmental ethics.
