- Abstract
The article presents a discussion on tactical voting in British elections. It examines the definition of tactical voting and its use in British elections during the 1980's. The article discusses that tactical voting occurs when an individual votes for any candidate who is most likely to defeat candidates of a disliked party. This involves strong feelings of dislike for a certain party and voting for another other than an individual's personal choice. An overview of tactical voting in British politics is also provided.
