- Title
THE QUEENSLAND SOLICITORS' CONVEYANCING RESERVATION: PAST AND FUTURE DEVELOPMENT - PART II.
- Authors
Byrne, Mark; MORTENSEN, REID
- Abstract
The article focuses on the impact of the Competition Policy Reform Act 1996 on conveyancing reservation and solicitors' practices. It discusses market boundaries, residential conveyancing markets and the cost/benefit analysis involved in the Queensland conveyancing reservation under the competition law. It concludes that lowering the entry barriers does not necessarily improve the quality of conveyancing services for consumers but will provide nonlawyer conveyancers access to markets.
