- Abstract
Compared with well-preserved new volcanoes, ancient volcanoes can directly expose the material composition of different periods and depths due to long-term denudation and later structural transformation, so they are ideal objects for the dissection of volcanic institutions. The investigation and study of ancient volcanic institutions is of great research significance for understanding volcanic eruption processes and the evolution of shallow magma systems, and has practical significance for the monitoring of active volcanoes and disaster assessment. Through systematic field geological survey and comprehensive research, this article has carried out a detailed analysis of the ancient volcanoes of Wangzhou Mountain in Cangnan, Zhejiang. Inclined inwardly, with the development of typical annular and radial faults and rock domes of late central intrusive facies, it is confirmed that it is a typical revived caldera, and its formation and evolution have experienced initial fault depressions, small-scale eruptions, and Plinian-style eruptions, overflow eruption, large-scale Plinian eruption and caldera collapse, and late resurrection in five stages.
