- Abstract
The article discusses the publication of the political pamphlet "Derechos y deberes del hombre en sociedad" by Colombian author and politician Juan José Nieto and published in 1834. In his writing, Nieto describes his beliefs on the creation of a republic, natural law, and a citizen's rights which include equality, liberty, and property. He also discusses his concept of justice and its role in establishing a republic. Additionally, the notion of tyrannicide is examined and promoted in cases of necessity.
