- Title
Malawi – Israel: Controversial Deal.
- Abstract
The article reports that hundreds of young men from Malawi have traveled to Israel to work on farms that were abandoned due to the Gaza war. The Malawian government initiated a labor export program to provide jobs for youth and generate foreign exchange. The government assures the safety of the workers, stating that they will be working in certified and safe environments. However, the Human Rights Defenders Coalition has criticized the government for its lack of transparency and called for the protection of workers' rights. Malawi has developed close ties with Israel, while other African countries have taken a stronger stance on Palestinian rights. Additionally, Kenya has also agreed to send 1,500 laborers to work on Israeli farms under a three-year deal.
