- Abstract
The article reports on the dismissal of several government officials in Tanzania because of multi-million dollar energy sector graft scandal. It mentions that the allegation is caused the discovery of fraudulent payment of an estimated $120 million in state funds to power producer Independent Power Tanzania Ltd. (IPTL). Among the officials suspended were Energy Minister Sospeter Muhongo, Lands Minister Anna Tibaijuka and the Energy Ministry's permanent secretary, Eliakim Maswi.
