In this article the author reflects on the examples provided by poets, including W. H. Auden, Howard Nemerov and Elizabeth Bishop, which suggests that the disposition of the will involved in writing poems is complicated than theories of territorialism and expropriation. He argues that readers must bring the knowledge to poetry. Moreover, the author believes that people must take the art seriously.
