Method: qualitative exploratory-descriptive study with 38 male military policemen from a Military Police Battalion in Paraíba. In the data collection a semi-structured script created by the researchers was used to meet the qualitative cut of the research, being applied in person and online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. As for mental health, the military showed anxiety, negative thoughts, and mood problems. They reported that the work causes emotional stress and pointed out ways to improve their mental health.
