The article focuses on the contribution made by C-Change, a nonprofit organization comprising more than 130 nationally recognized volunteer leaders, to address the problem of cancer. Founded in 1998 by President George H.W. Bush, former First Lady Barbara Bush and California Senator Dianne Feinstein, C-Change's mission is to bring public, private and nonprofit sectors together to address cancer as a societal problem. Formerly called the National Dialogue on Cancer, the name C-Change was adopted in 2003 to focus on action-oriented activities that can effect cancer change.
