- Title
The Stuffing of Crime: Israel's Rafah Strike.
- Authors
Kampmark, Binoy
- Abstract
This article discusses the Israeli air strike in Rafah, which resulted in the deaths of Palestinian civilians. The Israeli Defense Forces claim that the strike was targeted and based on precise intelligence, and that the deaths of civilians were unintended. However, international bodies and human rights rapporteurs have expressed their dismay at the indiscriminate and disproportionate nature of the strikes, which resulted in a high number of civilian casualties. The International Court of Justice has called for an immediate halt to the military offensive and for Israel to open the Rafah crossing. Israeli politicians and military personnel often justify violence with seemingly sound processes, but investigations into these incidents rarely lead to culprits being held accountable.
