- Abstract
The article offers information on the challenges and outcomes of self-management interventions for COPD exacerbations. Topics include the common use of short courses of antibiotics and oral corticosteroids, the high rate of treatment failure, and the push towards patient-led self-management. Despite efforts to improve self-management, studies have shown disappointing results, with increased risks of prednisolone use and hospitalizations.
