- Title
What’s Your Emergency?: White Women and the Policing of Public Space.
- Authors
MANN, JUSTIN LOUIS
- Abstract
In this article the author offers an exploration of occurrences when white women have called in false alarms to the police in reaction to black people in public spaces doing everyday things including having a barbeque. Particular focus is given to how this relates to what is described as "the policing of the public sphere." Also discussed is the link between racism and false reporting and black feminist and social theory.
