The article reports that cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1) plays a role in healthy bladder. Cannabinoids are the active chemical component of Cannabis sativa. They are used in adult patients with moderate to severe spasticity attributable to multiple sclerosis. The activation of CB1 receptors negatively modulates afferent nerve activity.
